Poor customer service and poor app

In general, Monzo is a great bank, that is until you face any kind of real problem. By problem, I mean something that is Monzo’s fault and not yours. Monzo customer service are great at resolving problems so long as you have pressed the wrong button for example, however if their app is at fault they very rarely do anything about it. A perfect example is the “get paid early” feature. Monzo will allow you to get your BACS salary payment a day early, however if you do this, the summary feature in the app breaks as it expects you to be paid the next day. Despite me reporting this and a massive thread on their forums about it, it’s been over a year and nothing is done. Their customer service can sometimes take weeks to reply, it’s the slowest customer service I’ve ever received. They also use bots to reply to customers despite denying this when asked, pretending that they are real people. Incredibly disingenuous behaviour, poor customer service and broken app features makes Monzo a poor bank for customers. Reviewed on: 13th April 2021

first of all I am not good English speaker, but I try to do my best.. I sent money on weekend 2;30 am In the morning to wrong account number..I didn't know what to do. I just sent them a simple text and I told them What I have done by mistake..they immediately responded and they Refund money into my account less than 5 minutes They are number one in the world for the banking system and service..I love you monzo.. Monzo decided to close my account In September 2025, and they informed me about this in July 2025. They refused to give me any reason as to why they were going to close my account! I asked for my data from the bank, and they informed me that it will take a month for them to get my information to me (this was back in July). We are now at the end of September 2025 and I have still not received my data from them. I have provided everything to them as asked to identify myself etc etc and they are still delaying for me to receive my data. It's like they don't want to give it me and are making up excuses! Every time I call them, I am talking to different team members and have to repeat my story multiple times too (even getting through to someone is a mission). The Monzo Customer Service is terrible!! Get paid earlier!

Monzo accounts let you get paid ealier, which is really helpful. It also categorises all expenses easily and correctly. It’s amazing, it’s easy to pay friends and divide money of nights out. Reviewed on: 19th June 2025

The best banking app I've ever used. Being able to move money into pots, the transaction updating usually before the shops till has, the option of virtual cards (I haven't upgraded yet) etc, I cannot recommend it enough. Very easy to use and to set up. The get paid early feature is FANTASTIC. Reviewed on: 17th June 2025
