Good experience with Nationwide security

Good experience with Nationwide security. I got robbed once and they dealt with it quickly and refunded my money. Plus, I like getting their one-off cash payments. For example, I recently got £50 paid into my account as a thank you. Reviewed on: 5th March 2026

The worst banking ever don’t do it

The Nationwide is the worst banking ever. Don’t get fooled they’re nice because they give out free money! They have a problem with their banking app. They admit it but won’t give my money back so I had to go to the financial ombudsman. They carried on paying two standing orders that I cancelled. They can see I cancelled them but now want to only give me £175 compensation for the ‘glitch’. They took over £800 out of my account without my consent and want to pay me £175. Absolutely not! They need to pay me every penny they took. A disgusting company who makes you fight to get your own money back. Don’t trust them with your money, if they took more what would you do. You’d have to fight to get it back. Their banking app has errors that they’re going to make you pay for move your money while you still can! Reviewed on: 27th February 2026

Ethical, trustworthy and I'm a member

I moved to nationwide because I find the majority of other banks unethical but nationwide is not just ethical, it also is a building society and rewards it's members and that means you, the customer. Every year we get to have our say in how things are done and get a little reward from the profits for just being a member. This flex account is a great current account for all your everyday financial needs and I like also that you can automatically save a little from it when you make purchases and the savings go into your savings account. Customer service at Nationwide is excellent, always willing to accommodate my toddler around our chats and explain everything to me with a smile and patience. I think their online banking is secure and easy to use and it's easy going into their store too. At a different bank I saw an old man become desperate because they wouldn't let him get his cash out but I trust nationwide wouldn't do that. Reviewed on: 22nd February 2026
