Great account

Flex account is easy to access on line and transferring money to another Nationwide account or paying into business accounts of tradespeople you use is quick and simple. Also gives me access to Flex Regular Saver at a good interest rate (you can save max £250 per month - used to be £500 but sadly they reduced it). Free travel insurance for hold in UK or Europe too - what's not to like? Reviewed on: 9th June 2019

Flex Account

This is just a current account with interest that does exactly what it says on the tin. I love the fact that you get free travel insurance if you pay in at least £750 each month. Staff are super friendly and very helpful, no matter which branch you go to. Online banking is very easy to set up and use. Reviewed on: 16th April 2019

A great current account

I have had my flex account since being a student and I have had no problems at all. Nationwide have always been great in branch and there is no up-selling as there is in some banks. Staff always friendly and efficient. I also benefit from their free travel insurance! Reviewed on: 10th February 2019

Good current account

5
I have had a flex account with the Nationwide for many years now and wouldn't want to change to any other provider. They were great when I had my account hacked and money taken, refunding within 24 hours, and I get free travel insurance for holidays within Europe to boot. Great current account to have Reviewed on: 10th February 2019

No nonsense banking with 5 star Customer service

I have banked with Nationwide for over 10 years now and I have never had an issue with my account . Their security checks are brilliant and they always flag up any suspicious activity quickly Reviewed on: 10th February 2019

Poor customer service and incompetent understanding of their policy

I have had a Nationwide account for many years and kept it after moving back to Canada. My daughter decided to go to Bristol and so I wrote to the Nationwide to ask if she could be added to the account. I was told to fill in the necessary forms and it would work. We had to take my husband off the account. I double checked before I left and again told it was fine. Once in Bristol, we set up the account and I was told it was fine and my daughter had access. I left the country and my daughter went back to the bank and was told she not only had no access but that they had sent documents to our old address in Manchester. They had our address in Toronto for over 15 years. They were rude to her and then when I tried to contact them I couldn't get through the security because they asked how I set up the initial account. I had no recollection at all. Then I received a very terse letter two weeks later saying they couldn't add someone to an account when they lived overseas. I have written back and they said they will "investigate" and they are sorry. But this has cost us a fortune in fees for using the canadian account; the travel to Bristol; time wasted making sure we had all the documents when not one but three people told us we could do this. We are left with no access to the account unless I go over again. It is insane. My daughter now has an appointment with Barclays and we will transfer the accounts there and forget Nationwide.
