Reliable bank with less service than an internet bank.

Have banked with Nationwide for decades without any issues. Two criticisms: They do not participate in the scheme which allows cash/cheque payments to be made into the Post Office as supported by other banks which is important to me as my nearest Branch is a 60 mile round trip away. Also, Nationwide is impossible to contact by phone and the FAQ/chatbot is completely useless. When a human operator is reached they invariably to tell you to call another seemingly unmanned number, say they have no visibility of my account details or advise me to visit a local Branch. The staff at Branches cannot help with anything as they are just there to sell product. I summary generally a reliable bank with systems that work well but customer service when there are problems is dire. Reviewed on: 25th March 2026

Simple to use and reliable.

FlexAccount is simple to use and reliable. The banking app works well but it used to show you a breakdown of categories of spends which was helpful. Reviewed on: 25th March 2026

Nationwide Flex account, best ever

Since we transferred our account to Nationwide 18 months ago (following closure of our longterm bank) we have found that the support and safeguarding of our account second to none. Reviewed on: 24th March 2026

Nationwide all the way!!!

Nationwide has been my bank since 2017. The past few years what they have been able to do for their customers is astounding. I have had the fairer share payment of £100 for the past 3 years, plus when they teamed with virgin money, Nationwide gave all their customers £50 just for being a loyal customer.
