Decent mortgage company

I had an overall good mortgage experience as a first-time buyer with Nationwide. The approval time was quick and everything was seamless when it came to setting the mortgage up. Their fixed rate deals were among the best on the market at the time, and they will also offer generous mortgage to income ratio if that's what you're looking for. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Great rate for getting on property ladder!

I took a mortgage with Nationwide and got a good rate for seven years and I'm still so happy I made this decision and was able to get on the property ladder when other banks don't even come close to offering the same level of help. Reviewed on: 25th January 2026

Always always give high praise to nationwide for their mortgages and the application process. We were made to feel like a lost cause by Halifax because my partner had a £1000 credit card he had forgotten about, we were told nobody would touch us, we went to nationwide the next week and were accepted right there and then, the advisor wasn’t pushy, was very informative and kept in touch throughout.
