There’s no monthly fee for FlexBasic and Nationwide automatically open a savings account for you at the same time. The account doesn’t have an arranged overdraft facility.

Very handy card to use. Not just for card purchases but also to draw money out.

I have found Nationwide to be a great bank to deal with. The staff on the telephone are always very polite and helpful and whenever I need a new card sent out it is done in a timely manner. I have a cash card and a loyalty Saver with Nationwide both of which I use on a regular basis. I would highly recommend Nationwide to friends and family. Reviewed on: 9th November 2015

Not taken incentives to switch, why would I?

Had account for 20 plus years despite incentives to switch. Happy with all aspects of current account management, never had a problem. Easy to maintain online and branch staff brilliant. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2026

Have been with Nationwide for a very long time, for at least a decade if not longer and have in the past used it as my main account, but have used Lloyds for the last 5 years as I am autistic and will often change things around with no explanation given as quite often I don't understand why I wanted to at all.
