There’s no monthly fee for FlexBasic and Nationwide automatically open a savings account for you at the same time. The account doesn’t have an arranged overdraft facility.

Absolutely sick of it

Im with nationwide bank but bank machine out of order as usual in Gillingham town centre went to halifax its says no funds available meantime it tells my bank ive had money out when i havent thanks halifax ill just let my new born baby starve the whole weekend while you sort your poxt machines out then. Have been with Nationwide for a very long time, for at least a decade if not longer and have in the past used it as my main account, but have used Lloyds for the last 5 years as I am autistic and will often change things around with no explanation given as quite often I don't understand why I wanted to at all. Basic only in title

I took out Flexbasic because I didn't want an overdraft as I'd had debt problems. It was the right decision, I have been able to be in control of my spending whilst still getting everything \i need from a current account. The mobile app and also the website are very easy to use and I can do everything I need to do from checking transactions, balances, transferring money to opening new products. I also like how Nationwide is run and that they do things differently. I vote in their AGM and feel like I'm getting a say. Reviewed on: 8th March 2025
