Excellent Briefing Rescues Client

With my mortgage product coming to its end in March, i selected another product in January but then failed to provide written confirmation. On phoning FBS today, I discovered my selection was no longer available. But, the FBS agent I spoke with (Serena) led me by the hand through options available, I made my selection, and the show was back on the road. Paper-based systems arduous but good, helpful and swift Advisor

The FBS's paper-based systems pre-date those of the digital age and can be quite arduous to complete - printing out forms and hand-writing them. However, compensation came in the form of Advisor Peter Cook who not only offered sound advice (as former business owners and a Finance Director we were not the most patient people to advise) and pushed things through for us in a timely fashion. Company responce to enquiry.

Made an enquiry by email relating to a change of Direct Debit Payee Title. I was surprise to get a reply within a few minutes acknowledging receipt. This was made near to 6 o'clock in the evening. On checking mail the following morning, it was even more surprising to find a reply was received 3 hours later same evening, explaining reasons for the change. This was over and above my expectations. Well done FBS. Reviewed on: 19th January 2022

Super fast renewal

I have to say, even “speed of light” would not do enough justice to the speed of renewal of my mortgage with the FBS. It took me a couple of clicks to ask for a product switch variation offer online. Less than 24h later, I got the offer, a simple 5p documents, along with two single-page documents to sign and send by email. Less than 24h later, on a Saturday (!), I received the product switch acknowledgment letter by email, telling me that FBS will switch my account when my current product expires. Done, end of the story :-) And the total cost: GBP 100. What's not to like?! Reviewed on: 13th December 2021

Family Building Society - a flexible friend

Definitely worthy of 'Five Stars'; very few mortgage providers offer mortgages to the elderly even if they are financially secure. The Family Building Society is one that does and does so efficiently and with reasonable terms, conditions and interest rates. Assessment and negotiation were thorough and the process helped and well supported by the adviser who kept us well informed. Reviewed on: 15th November 2021

Family Building Society Review

We have always preferred to deal with building societies rather than banks because they have a completely different set of values - orientated towards providing the right product for the customer rather than a fat profit for themselves.
