Matured Bond

Encouraged to use online service. Used the service to give bond maturity instructions. Received an email confirming receipt. Maturity date came and went and nothing happened. Eventually spoke to a human who said that they hadn’t received instructions!! Assured me that it would be dealt with immediately. Nothing happened!! Sent two emails today and got an automated reply to say they were very busy!! Still awaiting return of my investment. I was initially going to re-invest but have lost all confidence in this institution - very unimpressed! Reviewed on: 6th June 2025

Very competitive interest rates without the risk

I have been very impressed with the whole process as a new member to the Family Society, of opening a savings account on-line, and length of the investment - 18 months to invest. This is a much more realistic period of time than competitors who are offering investments for up to 5 years with poor interest rates. Reviewed on: 17th November 2020

Good competitive range of savings products

I opened a savings account with the Family Building Society a couple of years ago when I discovered their Windfall Bond. Since then I have noticed that their other savings products are in many cases more competitive than some of the big banks and more well known financial institutions and always go there to at least see what offerings they have if I am looking to open a new savings account. the real odds of winning

I understand that there about active 8000 bonds in the windfall scheme. Given that each bond is issued with 15000 tickets and that there are only 21 prizes each month, then - as I understand - the odds of one bond winning is 8000*15000/21= odds of 5,714,285 to one. Very poor and nothing like premium bond odds! Reviewed on: 12th November 2020
