Opening a new account was easy

It’s hard to open a bank account these days but this was really as easy as it could be. There are far too many statutory documents but requests were clear, I got pre paid and pre addressed envelopes and everything was returned in 2 days.. communication was clear and the whole process worked well. Online Startup

Initially I went into the BS and the two women there at the time were extremely helpful. I wanted to open a savings account and was told I could do it at the 'shop' in Epsom or online. The main reason for opening online was because I couldn't transfer the opening balance in the shop without a cheque, but online I could do it electronically, rather than go into Epsom again, I went for the online route. Apart from one question I had about the process and a quick phone call sorted that out, the rest was very straight forward and the account was open and ready to go. Clear, safe, and rewarding

I feel my money is put to good use in the Family Building Society, and the rates of interest are fair. I do all my banking online and their website is excellent, with information laid out clearly and easily accessible. I also appreciate being able to speak to a real person right away whenever I phone. Action

I required to withdraw a sizeable sum from my account very quickly, and after phoning customer services I was pleased to receive the full amount requested paid into my nominated account the following day . Thank you for the support Reviewed on: 25th January 2019

Why bother with Premium Bonds.

I find this way of saving better than Premium Bonds as you get paid interest on the deposit and also the chance to win sensible money, not a hundred million pounds. The web site is comfortable to use and quick. I would recommend to anyone if they are thinking of changing their bonds. Reviewed on: 25th January 2019

Security Concious

I was recommended to Family Building Society by the Daily Mail financial page. I opened a joint savings account - then the security problems started. I persisted with helpful staff, after many hiccups over security. Our account is now up and running, good interest rate and helpful/polite staff. Reviewed on: 15th December 2018

5 year fixed rate ISA

I transferred years of ISA savings into this product in order to receive an annual income. Unfortunately it was not clear that the interest was not paid out. Be wary, if you require your interest paid rather than accrued then this product is not for you. Reviewed on: 5th December 2018
