£54 cancellation fee on a policy with a premium of £211 p.a.

Cancelling my policy as sold car and quoted £54 cancellation fee on a policy with a premium of £211. Cancelling after 7 months so Churchill don't have the risk of insuring the car for 5 months and still charging £54 for the privilege - disgraceful!!!!! Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

If Churchill does not pay the other side's lawyers by the end of play today, I will end up with a "Satisfied" CCJ which will stick with me for SIX YEARS. I have done nothing wrong. Churchill have been incompetent throughout my entire case. They failed to reach an agreement with the other party They then failed to appoint a solicitor to my case despite writing to me telling me not to worry, they had done so As a result, no one turned up at court to defend my case and so as a direct result I have been hit with a County Court Judgement They then failed to pay the other party within the 28-day time limit (by sending a cheque when it has to be cleared funds) They are impossible to get hold of Because of their negligence and incompetence, they have missed the payment deadline; I will have this CCJ marked as Satisfied, but it will negatively impact my record for 6 years. I've given them one star only because there is no option to give a lower result. Next stop no-win-no-fee lawyers to recoup my losses I guess. Reviewed on: 17th April 2023

Churchill scrapped my car without permission

I have an ongoing claim and car was written off. Churchill gave me a scrap quote and I informed I would get back to them.; I requested a quote if I wanted to retain the car in a later conversation which was sent by email as requested. I received a letter on the 22nd March informing my insurance was suspended on the 16th, when I called they informed they had paid me to retain the car, despite no orders from myself. I explained this was wrong and was told insurance would be reinstated to third party until I had an mot., and I would get a call back. My insurance was not reinstated and I was subsequently stopped by police for no insurance and may get points etc. Currently going through complaints and the first stage as been useless., apparently they only uphold that they should have told me by email they was stealing my car. I appreciate this is probably a rare occurrence but the support and understanding I’ve received from Churchill since they messed up, shows me all I need to know about the company. They don't answer the phone

scammers! stay away

Stay away from this Company (Churchill / DLG). My claims still haven't been resolved (since 2021). Both accidents were not our fault fault (with proof) and we are basically being ignored by Churchill! They're not responding to our emails, not answering our phone calls. They promised several times to get back to us , but there's always an excuse. Our case has now been submitted to a third party company and Ombudsman! This is from OCT 2021. scammers! Misleading information

I took out a car insurance policy which Churchill based on them telling me they would provide my accident dates in the last five years when I told them I couldn't remember. Shortly after, they contacted me to say I didn't give them one accident date. That I must pay the over £100 in a couple of days because I didn't disclosed. I reminded them that I told them I couldn't remember and they said they will provide. I refused to pay and they cancelled my policy. Now I'm having trouble finding insurance less than £3000 and some refusing to insure my car. I'm in a nightmare of no fault of my own. In the meantime, I'm paying finance on my car and cannot afford to insure it. Churchill sent my documents to a few doors from my house and while I was on the phone to them, blind past me to their partner insurance directline who I left the join them. They mislead me and appear questionable to me. They also gave different stories and not transparent, in my opinion. I wish I had the option of not giving any stars. No response - no customer service

Long term customer, never claimed before - accident a few weeks ago, and garage says our car's a write-off ... Churchill, however, aren't responding to messages, haven't yet produced the promised courtesy car (paid for in the policy) and have left us high and dry - garage have said they've got several cars there and Churchill aren't communicating with them either - awful, not what we paid for, and no sign of resolution. SHOCKING EXPERIENCE

From the day of the accident nothing but problems, was provided with a courtesy car 5 days after mine was collected, to be taken of me 3 days later as mine was a write off and I’m not covered for a courtesy car if this happens, I have been waiting 4 weeks for a churchill engineer to look at the vehicle as they are behind to decide if it is a write off and still waiting . In the mean time I have no car I have had pay for hire car…The stress this is had on me top of accident and calling the company for weeks on end to get no help, also worrying about school, work hospital appointments. The customer service don’t seem to Know anything and get fobbed off all the time. Still waiting to here about my vehicle a month after the report was done. I wouldn’t give any stars if possible avoid this company!!! Reviewed on: 8th February 2023

Poor customer service

Rubbish customer service. Repeated myself several times, got several different quotes and nobody knew what was going on. One guy even said the customer rep shouldn’t have given the quote that he did and it was himself! And within the same hour. Shockingly bad. Reviewed on: 2nd February 2023

Avoid like the plague

I would give 0 stars but it’s not allowed! Was involved in a collision at the start of December and still waiting for Churchill to come back to me on writing my car off! The garage provided a repair/damage report he week of the accident and Churchill have been unable to have their assessors read this. Having rung customer services multiple times - each time waiting on hold for nearly an hour, I get told a different story as to when the report will be read. Apparently they are short of assessors (Aviva currently turning around in 3 days!!). They refuse to arrange manager call back or pass you through to a manager. The complaints team won’t deal with the complaint until the claim is closed. Quite possibly the worst service all round! I’m sure they’ll come back to this review and ask me to private message them my claim reference to ‘look into’ but nothing will move forward - it’s the same process on their socials - take it offline to avoid the bad press and then don’t do anything useful! Reading other reviews - this seems to have been common practise with them since June/July last year when it comes to managing claims. Reviewed on: 24th January 2023
