So happy with my building society.

I have with my friendly local building society for ten years both at my local branch and more recently on line. They treat you like a human being and not a number. They are patient with my enquiries and nothing is too much trouble ever. In this day and age with falling interest rates they give me good notice of changes to the rates and I feel other institutions ride roughshod over their customers so much. I have called Harpenden a few times for different things. They have always been very helpful and knowledgeable. It has been easy to speak to someone, rather than stuck in a queue. Applying on line a bit long winded

Applying on line a bit cumbersome having to scroll through loads of job titles etc. Old fashioned having to download a transfer isa form, to sign and then post, many now do this online. Reviewed on: 14th October 2024

I couldn't agree with you more about the ISA transfer form.... it seems odd that you can apply for an ISA through our online portal, but still require an ISA form to be downloaded. We are hoping to digitalise this process in the not too distant future. We take on board your comments regarding the cumbersome journey, specifically scrolling though many job titles. We are also working hard with our software provider to improve this. Once again, thank you for taking the time to give us some valuable feedback, and if I can be of any further assistance in future then please do not hesitate to contact me. We monitor all electronic communications to establish if any messages are ‘undelivered’ or ‘suppressed’ and will look to contact these customers through a different channel. We have fully reviewed and investigated your complaint and have sent you our final response on the 1st of October. This details how to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service if you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, however we would welcome further discussion if anything in our final response is factually incorrect.
