I set up a student account with Nationwide for going to University and they were really helpful in setting it up, the account was flexible and fair and with it they provided a student box of goodies! Nationwide are always so helpful and the staff are always really friendly and the banking app is easy and clear to use. Reviewed on: 14th August 2022

So glad we still have a branch we can visit. Although I do a lot on-line it is reassuring to have a place you can go to if it is needed. I have also used telephone assistance which was also excellent. I did have one issue that couldn't be sorted out, but on the whole very good. If I could give no stars, I would! Absolutely incompetent, functionally locked accounts because they failed the set up properly, app and internet banking appalling, tons of mistakes made, cost me more money in late payment fees than they 'gave' me as a new customer and a hit to my credit rating (despite having the money and being willing to pay) on top. Takes over an hour to get through to them (don't even bother with the chat function) and out of three formal complaints all three have been batted away, all showing they'd not even read the complaint properly, once blaming the postman! Avoid at all costs. Reviewed on: 1st April 2025

Wholly disappointing. If they spent as much on their ads as they did on modernising their approach to banking the whole process would be far more satisfactory. Online banking is too old-skool, customer service leaves something to be desired. I can see why those under 40 turn to digital banks. Reviewed on: 25th March 2025

The customer service is amazing, the app is easy to use and has great features (including a map attached to each payment so you can see exactly where your money went). I have never had a problem with this bank. I also get monthly interest and a yearly bonus. Reviewed on: 19th March 2025

Gave me 50quid just for loyalty.

Received an email a week ago from Nationwide stating they will give me £50 just for being a loyal customer. No other bank has done this in the history of me banking! Thank you for your generosity. They have improved the simplicity of their security system a lot, and there is much less need for that stupid log in machine, so much more convenient to bank with them nowadays. I orginally signed up because of other perks they were handing out many years ago. Reviewed on: 19th March 2025

Easy to use and access

The app is easy to use plus it was easy to open the account. It's really helpful to access a branch when I need coins and I love the ownership structure, Big Nationwide Thank You, etc. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Reviewed on: 18th March 2025
