After years of paying for the FlexiPlus account for its gadget cover, I made a claim for my broken iPhone. The experience with the external insurance administrator was poor. They were unhelpful, offered no loan phone option, and expected me to mail my device—which holds all my confidential data—creating significant hassle and security anxiety. The hurdles in the claims process are disappointing and not what you expect after years of premiums. I've now cancelled FlexiPlus. My advice is to get gadget insurance elsewhere where you can get local, practical help. A real shame, as Nationwide's core banking services have always been great for me. Have been with Nationwide for many years and they are just brilliant! Customer service is excellent. Helpful and efficient- so friendly! They make everything easy. Let me down completely in my hour of need

After years of having this account for the cover benefits I actually needed to call on the breakdown recovery today as my battery is flat and I'm on holiday in the northern hills of Spain. The operator was mostly interested in finding a get out clause from helping me, which he did, as my van is self converted as a camper van, so not covered it seems. I'm leaving. I can't stay with a company that looks for how not to help you when you're in your hour of need. Reviewed on: 27th May 2025

FlexPlus account is good value for money.

The FlexPlus account is really good value for money. The monthly fee is £18 and includes mobile phone insurance, travel insurance and breakdown cover! And I love that Nationwide pay their customers when things are going well! Reviewed on: 10th April 2025

Customer Loyalty properly earned.

Despite an aversion to having a paid for account, Nationwide Flexplus works out cheaper than paying for the packaged elements separately. Also they actually have a high street presence and have made cash rewards for recent years. All this promotes Customer Loyalty. A rare and very welcome attribute for modern financial institutions.
