The worst service I have ever had from a bank! I applied for a loan online on a Friday which was immediately approved in principle. I was slightly disappointed that they needed to post out documents (supposedly first class) to me to sign and I had to return them for me to receive the loan.

On Saturday I received another email stating that they could not offer me the advertised 2.7% APR rate but my offered rate would be in the documents they had posted. Once I returned the documents they would process the loan and the money would be in my account in 3 – 5 working days. So much for instant online trading.

Nothing arrived in the post on Saturday, Monday or Tuesday however I received an email on Tuesday stating they needed more information in order to process the loan. I rang the number provided to be told the loan was with underwriting as I was self employed. I was eventually told I had been declined, even though I have a credit score of 999 and have never defaulted on anything in my life!

I only picked Sainsburys as they had the lowest rate on Money Saving Expert who I trust. I will be going to a proper bank now instead of cowboys who should stick to selling bread.

Badly organised and incompetant. Avoid them.

Took out insurance for home and contents. Never got documentation. Chased it and still didn't. Chased them again and got confirmation but incomplete documents. If they cant get that right how can one have confidence in them if one makes claim. ...

I am shocked and appalled with the service I am currently receiving from Sainsbury's bank, specifically their credit card department. In 20 years of using other high street banks, I have never had to complain. In 8 months of using Sainsbury's bank I have had to complain three times, make multiple enquiries, had my card cloned and now, since the card cloning, cannot see any transaction history on my account, despite a balance being present. The nectar points that I am supposed to be accruing with regular spending are absent (complaint raised two weeks ago) are still absent as are the 'sorry' points that they were transferring me. The technical team should be shot, naked in the street for the poor excuse of a banking platform, that is impossible to use from a mobile device and for their lack of an app, possibly the only high street bank now not to have one. Frankly, Sainsbury's should stick to peddling eggs and bread and leave banking to the big boys. Absolute, swivel eyed, lazy, inflexible, opaque, fat cat shonkers who should be hung out to dry by the FCA.

I have a Sainsbury Cash Passport card. On returning home off holiday I stopped to draw cash for my onward journey using the Cash Passport card and the Link machine had a fault and dispensed no money.
Over the next 6 hours Link provided an email to say I had received no cash and that Cash Passport would be able to release the preauthorisation immediately. Not so they wanted 7 days before they would return my money. I was left stranded with no offers of help or interest at al from Cash Passport.
I have since enquired at other Banks who all confirm that the preauthorization could have been released immediately !!!!
My advice don't use Cash Passport as if you are stuck they are not interested!!!

Pre loaded in euros I visited the canaries I used my card in cashpoint and they charged me over 30 euros to draw 150 euro out! And every shop purchase I made they charged me a currency conversion fee!! Now I'm home I'm trying to get the money back but 14 days later and iv still not received anything! They make it so hard to claim your money back you consider giving up!! And what money you have left and want to transfer back to your account is bought at a much higher rate so you loose massively!! Stay well clear I'd say

Nectar points are good for spending on goods I store or services and offers which are available to view online. The website provides an easy way to keep an eye on your spending and making payments, a direct debit is a good idea but being able to pay more online is handy. Interest rates aren't the best but not horrendous and if paying off in full every month points can be earned with little outlay.

My loan with Sainsbury's was at a fantastic rate, so really chuffed with that. But setting up was a little more daffy than I'd have liked, and involved confusingly worded emails and posted letters. It all felt a bit old school waiting for things in the post. Emails looked basic which always makes me question the validity of the sender in this world of identity fraud.
