I got my insurance with Tesco bank and they sent an email asking for proof of my no claims, in the email they said if they didn’t receive it my policy would be cancelled in 7days. I sent my proof of no claims and 7days later my policy was still cancelled! When I called to ask what was going on I was told the department that cancelled the policy was closed and they couldn’t discuss it with me and told me to call Back in the morning. When I did I was told that I hadn’t sent all the documents they needed, they want a copy of my v5, back to back of my licence etc etc.(things I’ve never been asked for before when getting insurance) I told them that I hadn’t been asked for these documents in the email and it was the first I had heard of it. If I had known why would I only send one document in? It doesn’t make sense for me not to do that!
They said they had sent a letter which I didn’t receive and that was that. There was nothing they could do, my policy was cancelled and I was never allowed insurance with them again!
Terrible customer service and would never use them again.

I’ve been with Tesco for 16 years and have only had need of their claims department twice in that time. The first time was when someone nearly wrote off my car; the second was when a van driver reversed into me without looking. The first time I claimed Tesco were fast and my opinion were very good and I was soon on the road within a month, so when the van driver reversed into me I was pretty confident in my insurance provider-WRONG. After two months of waiting, calling back to ask on the progress of my claim and sending emails that got ignored I was basically told I would have to stump the cost of the repair myself because it fell under my excess. Fair enough you might say, but I was told on the phone by the only competent and interested member of their team that they were going to hold the other party fully responsible for the damage to my car. I phoned up some weeks later and was told they were waiting on the other party to come to a compromise. The next time I phoned up about three weeks later I was told “They hadn’t hear from the third parties insurance company for weeks.” so what really was going on here? well one guess was I was getting very close to my renewal date and maybe Tesco wanted to keep me daggling on a hook because with a case still on going the company thought it was in its best interests to keep me in the dark so I would obediently renew because of the case. However like I told the young lady on the phone I’m not happy with Tesco giving me misinformation and as their premium for the next year is high I will no longer require their services. Her response was “sorry to hear you’re not happy” well folks after thousands of pounds spent on this company over the years I feel so much better hearing that. My advice is maybe Tesco are good when there is a large claim i.e. a write off when they see hundreds if not thousands can be gained from the other party, but loyalty isn’t their forte.

Amazing Customer service!

I needed to change my cover from personal to business, and the staff recommended i do it online to save admin fee. she also offered to assist me while patiently waited for my slow computer to load up. I ended up getting refund on changing my policy....

I needed to change my cover from personal to business, and the staff recommended i do it online to save admin fee. she also offered to assist me while patiently waited for my slow computer to load up. I ended up getting refund on changing my policy. Friendly/amazing customer service would recommend to anyone. Tesco online account is also easy to use and user friendly. Keep up the good work Jubeda.

Went to pay for my insurance and then change my vehicle. They took my card payment then gave me a quote of over £500 for my Jeep Wrangler. I decided to cancel my policy and asked for my card payment to be cancelled. They couldn't do that and wanted to refund it to another card they had on file. After speaking to a manager they can now make a payment back to my card but it will take 7-10 days. Terrible service and very unhelpful staff. I will never use or recommend them again.

When ringing to find out what had happened no date had been put in the system and then this employee left no notes so other employees kept ringing to ask for payment!

This has got to be the worst insurance organisation ever created that has left me constantly surrounded by total incompetence. The car number plates were cloned. This car then had a ding. Short story, Police came round, examined car and interviewed me. They reported that it was a cloned car and nothing to do with me. Eventually Tescos said it wasnt me. lots of worry. NOW 3 years later, have found out they have left the file open and it may effect future insurance. Save yourself AVOID at all cost. May be cheap, but if something goes wrong and you are NOT to blame, they dont care

Bought the Tesco Boxins car insurance for my daughter. Initially it was £1240 for a Ford Ka, After 7 months the Ford broke so we got her a Peugeot 206. This cost us another £470. After 9 and a half months Tesco Boxins cancelled her insurance as she wasn't achieving good enough scores on speeding. Every 500 top up miles she bought was £69.22 I reckon it has cost over £2000 for 9 months insurance and she didn't even get any no claims. Found her a new insurance for £1740 with no black box. Basically I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. This insurance can charge you what they want. The whole on line side of things is a joke and driving data is always at least a week behind. Rubbish, Rubbish, Rubbish Do not buy under any circumstance. You WILL regret it!!

We have a Tesco Clubcard Credit Card. We have had no issues with this card and chose it because we got 30 months interest free on purchases. We mainly interact with them through online banking but, on the occasion that I have had to call them, I have always been impressed that my phone call has been answered promptly. Also, the I have always found the staff on the phone to be extremely helpful, always managing to solve my query.

This has got to be the worst insurance organisation ever created that has left me constantly surrounded by total incompetence. This despite a no-fault accident several weeks ago in March resulting in my car been written off and me unable to get to work. The management running this organisation have successfully created a specialist mantra of "sod you and sort it yourself". What do I do to move things forward. Tesco?

This year was the first time that I insured my car with Tesco. I am very impressed. They were by far the cheapest cover but didn't scrimp on cover at all. Have everything that you need for a great all round cover.
I would fully recommend getting a quote from them.
