Received my renewal which was massive. So I did another comparison with tesco as a new customer. The quote came in £550 cheaper for the exact same cover. So I called them cancelled the existing cover set up a new policy like for like and saved £550.

We have had Tesco Home Insurance for a couple of years now and this year we took Emergency cover as an extra. So delighted we did. We had a blocked toilet and so rang Home Manager . They took details of our predicament and arranged for an engineer to call. Metro Rod arrived within the hour and provided a wonderful service. Happy knowledgeable guys, very professional and dutifully unblocked our toilet. Thank you very much.

Absolute robbing b***ards they are!! I have been with them for 4 years now, first 3 years were okay, except my policy kept going up for no reason, and they refused to give me one. This year, I went over my miles(I always have done and this has never been an issue before), they then started charging me per mile i drive, I live up north and tend to drive down south a lot, WHO THE HELL CAN AFFORD THAT?!!! Last month, I topped up my miles by 500, 2 weeks later they are threatening to cancel my policy unless I pay them £200, because they said I am -2000 miles. We have been in lockdown, how the hell could I have driven 2000 miles in two weeks, IN A LOCKDOWN?!!! Not a chance, I even added up my miles to prove it, and I hadn't driven that all.They told me to send them a picture of my miles clock, so they can compare, no doubt they'll tell me I'm wrong when they eventually get back to me. Even though I have worked it out myself. And to top it all off, at the start of them saying I'd have to start paying for my miles like this, I asked if I could cancel my policy, they said it would cost me £330, so either way, they have screwed me over financially.
Also, this year, somebody hit my car, so I claimed on their insurance(not mine), my car was written off through no fault of my own, when I got a new car, they still had the cheek to charge me a change of car fee, even though I explained the situation.
Absolute joke they are, they have seriously screwed me over financially this year, and as soon as my policies over I'm out, disgrace they are. Please don't even think about going with them!!Reviewed on 2nd January 2021Emily![]()

I was wondering why the underwriters ( or in this case undertakers ) allow such an inept setup to operate in their name, but then as stated, they have , " thousands and thousands of customers . " No doubt blindly thinking they are in good hands.

I sent another form of proof of my discount and phoned them to see if it was acceptable, this was in lockdown period and they didn't pick up. I received an email off them saying my cover was cancelled, but I never read that email on the day, so I was driving around for 24 hrs. without cover. I phoned and spoke to a lady team leader, I asked her why they never phoned me to talk about the problem, her reply was, "We have thousands and thousands of customer, far too many to phone. " I asked he to look into the problem and she said she would and phone me in four days time, she never did.

Had an accident where someone hopped a red light and crashed into the back of my car. Explained the situation to the helpful and friendly Geordie lady down the phone, who was thorough in her details and made sure she had everything down. Later that day I already had a hire car and my car was picked up the following day, repaired by the body shop and returned within the week. Got a text a couple of weeks later saying the claim was all sorted and closed. The person had admitted fault so there was no contest, but still a pleasant and easy experience.

I insure both of my dogs with Tesco Pet Insurance and have never had a claim. Just got my renewal quote and they have double the premiums to £618 a year for absolutely no reason. How do they think people can afford those sort of premiums? Absolute rip-off. I have to go find another insurance company but now with dogs that are older. Tesco gave me the impression that they wouldn't increase the premiums much as the dogs got older but that certainly is not the case. If they had been transparent about this from the start I would never have taken out a policy with them. They are a complete rip-off.

My car insurance was cheapest compared to other providers HOWEVER after the first year renewal price DOUBLED for no reason (no claims or changes). BEWARE and make sure you cancel before it expires and find another company to insurance. Customer service was disgusting, they cancelled my insurance because they lost all the correct documentation I sent to them twice, citing I never sent them. This could had been resolved and I tried contacting them several times but said they couldn’t access my details on each occasion and “someone”would phone me back. They didn’t. Then cancelled insurance due to lack of documentation proof. This is the worst company I ve ever had to deal with but the quote was the cheapest. Had I known what I know now I wouldn’t have used them. It’s better to pay an extra £100 with another company than the distress of dealing with them.

I had Tesco home emergency cover through SCUMBAG AXA INSURANCE I lost all heating and hot water and put an EMERGENCY claim in a plumber came 24hrs later and diagnosed the fan then went another week to only have the boiler condemed ? walking away offering no advice or offer to arrange a quote AXA then REFUSED TO PAY A MEASELY £100 TOWARDS THE £3100 I paid British gas to replace my boiler as they said mine had not been maintained correctly even though they asked for no proof! British gas quoted me on saturday and installed on tuesday and done everything exactly as agreed to a fine art absolutely disgusting service and a disgrace i hope AXA read this and it costs you more than it cost me never was about money it was principle

One week & 28 calls later i am still waiting for settlement, which was agreed 5 days ago. I have had to await calls from 2 other companies & had endless promises! I was also promised a further call yesterday which i have still not received! I have been told to call another company who are finalising it, but, as i rightly pointed out, my contract is with Tesco so it is not for me to be calling anyone else. Also, i am awaiting a replacement email, as the original one stated my excess at £800, it is actually £50 - apparently it was a typing error on the draft document! Inefficient, confused, uninterested - that is the only way i can describe this poor excuse of an Insurance Company. I think they should stick to being a supermarket - i award them 3 stars for that!

be aware of the auto renew that tesco hide in the small print "sold as making life easy for you" in fact the renewal price for me was 75% more expensive that searching again for building and contents insurance a fresh . Customers service is inline with most insurers in that we really really really value your call in real live that means for me an average waiting time of 45 mins on the phone . which may be fine for yourself but not for me . Tesco's policy of trying to obtain your card details for their system is in my view bordering on a scam . the process on having to create an online account to view your building and contents insurance policy documents should not mean having to registry your debt card details !! and lastly and not really relevant here the idea of giving money for a Tesco card to get a discount on their products really . this was tried by companies in the 18-19 century paying workers with tokens to buy from the business . just think a little before jumping in who sets what products to be discounted on and what type of products will be offered premium priced branded goods you would never buy , discount vouchers for your next holiday !!!!
