Where to begin.

Where to begin... Recently I was involved in an accident by a drunk driver. The at fault drive fled the scene of the accident on foot and I was taken to the hospital due to myself being trapped in my car. Phoned Esure the next day to inform them of the situation and it took me over 1 hour to get through. They kept asking me the drivers name and reg plate even though I’ve told them multiple times I was trapped in my car and couldn’t provide these details at this moment in time. I gave them the police log number and crime number. They couldn’t phone the police themselves due to the fact they wasn’t based in the UK, so 101 was out of the question. I had to chase the phone numbers down for them and the police for the at fault drivers car reg but wouldn’t be able to get his name due to data protection. They did inform me saying the insurance can contact them with the log number to chase down any additional information but they can do the reg plate check for these details and where the car was being stored. Another 2 hours on the phone with Esure informing them about all this new information and still they didn’t update the system. I then had to chase things down again by contacting one of the police officers that was at the scene about where the car was.. another 1 hour trying to get through to Esure, I informed them of this. They stated they would inform copart to pick up the vehicle to assess the damage. I asked about a rental yet they stated they have informed enterprise cars. yet... phoned enterprise and they informed me that my insurance Esure asnt sent the correct details over! Yet again I had to re phone Esure with the ridiculous wait times to sort this. All I get is yeah we will sort it and nothing ever happens. Luckily for me the at fault driver Insurance phoned me stating there driver took full responsibility and if I wanted them to deal with the claim...YES 100% I got a rental the next day and they have chased up everything... re phoned Esure to Inform them about this and to close the claim down on my side so they could take over.... 1 week later they still haven’t closed the claim after hours and hours spent informing them to close it. All I got was there is a technical error. I have now just cancelled the insurance and paid the fee just to get away from these people. My stress level was so bad throughout this traumatic experience that I had to go to the doctors for medication. Please for God’s sake do not go with these guys. They make it so easy to join them and suck you in with cheap quotes, but my god the customer service is shocking. Avoid like the plague Reviewed on: 26th January 2024

I've been with esure for about 7 months and seemingly all good till you have to claim. i was informed by the repair centre that they expected me to £1200 ecses despite the accident not being my fault I tried to explained I'm disabled and suffering from PTSD and on the day of the accident I didn't have any phone signal so the Esure app wouldn't work and I can't afford to pay the£1200 to their so called customer service department but every answer was have you got the registration number again explained my situation but just kept answering did I have the registration number? I was past from customer service to claims department and back 6 times over 45 minutes by this time I was getting really annoyed so asked to speak to a manager but told there's no one there asked for a manager to call me back but unbelievably told they don't do that!! The service was horrendous unhelpful rude and ignorant I couldn't believe what I was hearing then she just hung up? Called back explained everything again to Claims department and still just got I will get money back when settled by the other driver insurance!! I'm fully comprehensive and not at fault but beware if they can't get liability from other drivers insurance you've lost any hope of getting money back and they've got your car? So my car remains damaged completely unacceptable dreadful money grabbing company DON'T GO ANYWHERE NEAR ESURE THEY'VE EVEN BEEN INVESTIGATED BY THE BBC FOR UNBELIEVABLE AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Be very careful with Ensure Car Insurance!

Be very careful with Ensure Car Insurance! They charged me £880 for changing my car and adding a new driver without my authorisation. I never signed or agreed to pay this — I believed it was just my annual renewal fee. Two months later, I discovered they had increased my monthly payments to £912, without ever sending me new contract documents or asking for my approval. They took the money directly from my account and refused to refund me when I questioned it. I have a 10-year-old car and a clean driving licence for 20 years — who would ever agree to pay £912 a month for insurance like this? They play with words and take your money without consent. Stay alert — they are not to be trusted.Now anyone know how to get my money back from them? Reviewed on: 8th October 2025

Awful left us without a car for weeks after we had a crash that wasn't our fault. Had to call daily to ask them what was happening. They were rude and unhelpful at every turn. Reviewed on: 17th September 2025

Pretty reasonable

I received a car insurance renewal quote which was actually lower than the previous year and compared well to other providers. It was easy enough to contact customer services via live chat and phone - I’ve never made a claim so can’t comment on this aspect of the service. Reviewed on: 5th September 2025

My insurance is good value for money for fully comprehensive insurance, all my queries have been answered quickly and satisfactorialy. Thankfully I haven't had to make a claim so cannot comment on that process. Reviewed on: 5th September 2025

esure were able to beat the renewal quote my old company gave me, whilst also offering extra benefits to the insurance package. Not had any issues since taking out the policy, they have a website & mobile app that’s easy to navigate & access your important documents. Reviewed on: 5th September 2025
