Review of the MBNA, Credit Card:

BEWARE of 0% interest rate, they only mean 60 days!

I had the credit card for a little over 3 months, and I made a purchase I was planning to use the 15 months of 0% APR. So I noticed that I got charged on the 3rd month and queried this with a customer advisor. She was brilliant and was accustomed to this enquiry. She told me there is a very small print that is not apparent to new customers that 15 months of 0% APR actually means the 0% applies to the first 60 days... She then advised me to get another credit card out, and she was completely talking me through how to close my account down without getting further charges. I'm just very shocked at the lack of transparency MBNA has with consumers over something as basic as the term length for a 0% APR interest rate. Thanks to that advisor she was so accustomed to this when I swore out of shock and then quickly apologised, she showed good decency and empathy of the situation. On the same day I took her advice and transferred my balance to another credit card. The take from this is all of the 0% term length offers mean only 60 days. Reviewed on: 23rd March 2024

WORST CREDIT CARD EVER

I have had this card for a while, mostly for Amazon purchases. It has a $10,000 limit and I prepaid $6,000 on the card for an upcoming $13,000 charge. It was rejected, despite my prepayment and I am told that is because of the $10,000 limit! What? So now to get my prepaid $6,000 back will be a long time. I am cancelling this card as it has been rejected several times and now even though I have prepaid $6,000 on the card. I am fed up! Reviewed on: 13th May 2023

They blocked my card for suspicious activity

They blocked my card for suspicious activity because i was travelling in Florida. I called MBNA the lady transferred me to a special department. Waited over an hour on-hold absolutely nuts. You need a are card when travelling and this line should be answered immediately so the issue can be rectified. Will definitely be cancelling this card. Zero customer support. Terrible

If I could, I'd give -5 stars. One time i asked for an extension to my 0% interest and they close one of my accounts and lowered my credit limit SIGNIFICANTLY on another. Im told they sent a letter I didn't get the letter, and I still haven't been told why? I asked for a 30 day interest free extension as I was struggling to pay it all back on the date my 0% balance transfer expired. I needed 2 weeks actually, but the man I spoke to, for god knows how long, and after MANY times of explaining my situation, he finally understood. He assured me that my account wouldn't close or change. Then I see one of my credit cards have closed and another one lowered. I've never been late with any payments. I've always paid on time. I've had these accounts for a while. One time I asked for an extension, and my loyalties are paid with closed account and one account limit lowered!!!! My loyalty clearly meant nothing and being a customer for so long. Terrible service and an even worse way of retaining customers. Also, hire people who understand you when you speak! slovenly, lazy service

MBNA’s website and app are atrocious, and their customer service isn’t any better. The app doesn’t use any form of input validation. The designers are lazy and in no way customer-focused. Reviewed on: 6th April 2023

Good rate and easy use

Competitive rate with credit card, low interest thereafter interest free period. Could have been notified as to when that period was up as I had to look myself after being charged interest. Balance amount increased with no hassle and all on the app. Reviewed on: 5th April 2023

NEVER RECCOMENDED THIS BANK

I closed my account because of very high interest rates,after 1 year i called them to send it to me my old statements (because of yearly tax) they said we r not send email just regular mail and we charge 2$ every each statement!! Omg. Reviewed on: 17th March 2023

Scamster Scumbags

They double charged me for 5000$. They have taken money from my bank and have still reported for late payment. Their phone number has changed and they havent even updated their website. Name one serious bank who would do that. I had to call 8010 to get their actual number. They have no physical presence. The agents that talk to you on phone are scumbags who would be serving prison sentence if unprofessionalism were a claim. You have all red flags of a filthy business with mal-intentions.
