Formerly part of Lloyds, TSB relaunched as a brand new bank in 2013.

A full service bank, they offer a range of savings account types, including cash ISAs, bonds, easy access accounts and children's accounts.

TSB also offers a full range of mortgages and personal loans, as well as home, life and travel insurance.

TSB is one of the more well-represented banks on the high street, with over 500 branches nationwide.

Alongside this, there's a full-service digital offering, including an app, which lets you make payments, manage regular payments and convert currencies.

You can read the Smart Money People community's reviews of TSB below. If you're a TSB customer, let us know if you think they're a good bank.

During this current virus outbreak it has meant self isolation and big concern over how to manage financially. TSB has personally contacted me to offer any assistance they can to support me throughout this ordeal. I found the service offered incredibly thoughtful and compassionate.
In particular, Edward, who is based at the Exeter TSB branch, went out of his way to assure me that I would be looked after in any way possible financially due to having disabilities. It provided great relief and I'm grateful.

Slow service, can't close an account online have to download form and take to branch (if still open). If security get involved over a payment you'll be asked to phone and then shunted from one queue to another. BTW if you use google chrome the TSB system doesn't like your pop-up blocker.

For over 20 years I had an arranged overdraft with Lloyds before I was hived off to the TSB. I paid Lloyds an agreed interest rate of 3% over base rate.
After TSB had held my account for a few months I received a letter telling me that they were cancelling that arrangement and instead would charge me 19% - 18.5% over base rate. I complained, they refused to do anything at all.
A few weeks ago I received another letter this time telling me that instead of 19% interest they would now be charging almost 40% instead.
My account has never been disorderly in any way at all.
TSB are the most greedy and arrogant bank I have ever heard of.
Don't go anywhere near them if you value your wallet.

I have held a tsb account for 50 years and after recently filling out a credit card dispute for Thomas Cook flights I then phoned after receiving no response. I have never come across such a deliberately obstructive robotic answering stream of messages. In the end an operater I formed me that my claim had been overlooked and I should have received a credit on my Bill. A complete disregard for customers and the frustration that you experience when tryi g to direct a complaint

How to trust a bank that breaks their promises? The then chief executive Paul Pester had pledged that Classic Plus Accounts would have their interest rate increase from 3 to 5% on money up to £1,500, following the IT meltdown crisis but less than a year after, and the now ex chief executive gone, they broke his pledge and brought the interest rate back to 3%. It is not the £s loss, but the principle. Cheating on customers by lying.

No strings attached

I love this account, it’s basic and does what it says on the tin. No overdraught, no charges for things I won’t use. Text reminders to tell me to put money in by 2.30pm if I go over my balance and balance texts every Friday. My only gripe is trying to...

I love this account, it’s basic and does what it says on the tin. No overdraught, no charges for things I won’t use. Text reminders to tell me to put money in by 2.30pm if I go over my balance and balance texts every Friday. My only gripe is trying to get statements off online is a nightmare, it’s extremely complicated compared to Barclays. This needs to be reviewed!
