I have been with Santander for over thirty years in all that time I have never had a problem the only reason I changed to... I have been with Santander for over thirty years in all that time I have never had a problem the only reason I changed to the everyday account was because the 123 no longer suited my needs. I have had many products with Santander, a mortgage that I have paid off, savings accounts current accounts in all that time and different products they have performed outstanding in every respect. This bank has froze my account several times, most recently on payday for the staff. It then takes hours to get this unlocked. I sent... This bank has froze my account several times, most recently on payday for the staff. It then takes hours to get this unlocked. I sent details required, they lose them then freeze the account again. Unbelievable . The also call with no ID and ask all your personal details? Other banks at least let you know who they are with some personal details. Read more Read less

    Locked out of account, with no explanation

    Both my husband and I were locked out of accounts. First my business accounts, then 2 weeks later our joint accounts. Bounced between service teams... Both my husband and I were locked out of accounts. First my business accounts, then 2 weeks later our joint accounts. Bounced between service teams who knew nothing. The CEO's executive team did not even respond in the promised time frame and no one knew whey there was a lock. My husband had to provide rafts of business statements for a personal account (each one costing, as it needed his accountant to provide). Service was beyond appalling. Read more Read less

I contacted them several times and was told that it was impossible because the fraudulent company actually existed and I needed to contact them personally. And when the circumstances turned out to be the opposite and the company did not exist, the bank said that the case was closed and no one would take any further action to help me get my money back.     Some time ago, I had Open Bank block my account there because suspicious debits were being attempted. A week after the account was blocked, Open...     DO NOT TRUST - they are fraudulent

    They put a lock on my account, meaning I cannot access my account. They cannot give me a reason why. I have called them several... They put a lock on my account, meaning I cannot access my account. They cannot give me a reason why. I have called them several times to resolve the issue, I’ve spent hours on hold, been transferred to all their different teams, I’ve been made promises such as I would receive a phone call within a certain time frame, which I never did… This has been going on for several month now. Nobody can tell me why my account has a block on, nobody can unblock my account, and I cannot even speak with a manager or anybody who can tell me why this is happening or has the authority to remove the block. This means I can receive payments but cannot make any payment. Not even direct debit can leave my account apart from THEIR bank charges. I’ve been their customer for over 10 years and I had ongoing payments from my account until this happened. They don't value their customers. I don’t even know if I will ever be able to access my money on my Santander business account. It seems like they have just stolen everything I had on that account. DO NOT TRUST Santander!!!! They are fraudulent. Additional update: As my case is developing, I have learnt that the reason Santander would not give out an email address to any customer who would like to complain is because in order to raise an issue at the Financial Ombudsman you would need written correspondence. At least it would make your case more straightforward. I somehow managed to find an email address on the internet (not on their website) and tried to email them but received an automated response that I would not receive a reply to my email as they are not responding to emails "in order to be able to deal with complaints faster". So they are very crafty criminals therefore I would advise anyone to try to stay away from them, but if you are already in their trap, like I am, record all phone conversation and write to them postal letters with recorded delivery.
