Poor customer service in Windsor branch

Tried to open a bank account with my daughter in Windsor branch ready for college in September, id provided of recent savings account statement and passport but was advised needed driving licence and utility bill in addition. Difficult to provide as...

Tried to open a bank account with my daughter in Windsor branch ready for college in September, id provided of recent savings account statement and passport but was advised needed driving licence and utility bill in addition. Difficult to provide as she does not have these as living at home without driving licence.
Went to Nat West with same documents and no problem to open account.
Member of staff on reception was very unhelpful and indifferent to trying to help at all.

I would recommend this account as it has allowed me the option of being able to make interest on the money already within the account this has proved very beneficial especially when larger sums of money are held in the account. I would also recommend this account and the bank society as they have always been helpful when every I needed help and I am satisfied with their service and customer satisfaction.

20 years plus and still happy

I have been with Santander since it was Alliance and Leicester and I have never had any complaints. My only niggle is that all of the local branches near me seem to have closed down. It is fairly easy to bank with them online or via the post office...

I have been with Santander since it was Alliance and Leicester and I have never had any complaints. My only niggle is that all of the local branches near me seem to have closed down. It is fairly easy to bank with them online or via the post office however I recently tried to pay in a cheque and couldn't do it because I didn't have any paying in slips. I assumed that my debit card would be sufficient.

Initially it was a poor service and product, between myself and my family we all has fraud issues happen, but Santander have really stepped up their security recently and I feel much more confident that my money is safe. I've found the customer service to have really improved too so I'm being provided an all round much better service and product these days.

Santander Remortgage - Appalling

Started our mortgage review on 29 March 18 and the amounts and decisions keep changing from the mortgage advisor to the underwriting, had to change from repayment to interest only back and forth each stage takes 5 days, it is now 2 May 19 and still...

Started our mortgage review on 29 March 18 and the amounts and decisions keep changing from the mortgage advisor to the underwriting, had to change from repayment to interest only back and forth each stage takes 5 days, it is now 2 May 19 and still do not have a decision. With all the technology available and after several 40 minutes telephone calls, that the next steps takes over 10 days. The next chase up call I have been advised that due to Easter they are running 2 days late so 7 working days then next stage.,

We initially had no problems not until we remortgaged and despite doubling our income over 5 years Santander would not let us remortgage for anymore when we wanted to move home. It seems they penalize you severely for having one child even though they are in school. They have no mortgage advisers in branch either.
