have had the account for years and have used the breakdown cover, the travel insurance and the mobile phone cover. The test is that when needed the product provided the insurance cover and I was treated fairly. The standard of cover offered is very good. The service is prompt and easy to access.
Great product especially for families.

I borrowed £40,000 for 10 months.

I was made redundant unexpectedly and had to draw company pension early. On top of the mortgage payments to Nationwide, I had to pay an extra £1,527.00 to them when I used the pension to redeem the mortgage. I found out after that I could have had another mortgage with them without paying the EPC and the same payments. How was I to know I would be made redundant?

I should have been claiming a government pension now but they changed it until I'm 66. Losing 45 grand! It gives me no hope to live as can't get a job at my age. I would not trust them again.

I've been with the Nationwide for twenty plus years and found them very helpful and understanding in the early days with great on-line banking but things have changed...
Last week I visited my local branch with my husband to add him to my current account, which is a 30 minute drive away. The cashier took ages to get the correct form but supported us with completion and checked both the form and our ID before sending off to be actioned. Seven days later, I received my form back in the post advising there was an error and we needed to return to our branch! So I called the Retail Admin Team who finally worked out that the form wasn't dated. Then they advised that I couldn't date and return the form by post but really did need to drive for an hour, 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back to simply drop the form off.
After my father passed away, I thought it was best to add my husband to my account for future ease, perhaps this just isn't to be.

I can't rate Nationwide highly enough. Their products are extremely good value for money; their staff friendly helpful & respectful, and of course their ethos means you know that they are doing right by you, instead of lining the pockets of shareholders and fat cat CEOs. The FlexPlus account is excellent value - the breakdown cover, travel insurance and mobile phone insurance have all been used by me and there has never been a single issue. Their online banking service is very user-friendly and has a good interface too. I have my mortgage, loan, Child ISA, credit card and joint current account with them and would highly recommend all of them. Excellent stuff, if only more companies were like them...

I put in a claim for travel insurance since 23rd April, 2018 and provided all the documents they required.
I was contacted to send proof of my watches which I did on the same day. A week after that, I was asked to send estimate to replace the watches.
I have not received any correspondence from anyone since I put in the claim. I feel very disappointed with the service Flexplus travel has provided. I call every week and still have not got any update on my claim and recently had to file in a complaint.

Been with nationwide years now first time I had to use any of the insurance due to a stolen phone. Was worried as the phone original order did not have IMEI number on which is a requirement. I wrote in claim this fact and gave a snapshot of my find my phone app with the IMEI number. Very happy that they sent me a new phone very quick
