After upgrading my travelinsurance to ensure I was fully covered, I was left disappointed when my return flight ticket from Napal was cancelled by Jetairline and Flexplus would not cover the replacement ticket I bought. The first phone call I made regarding the claim was rejected and the reason given was because I had not chosen the “Travel distruption” option on my policy. After doing some research and looking into my policy, I called back and informed them to play the call I had originally made repeating “is this a comprehensive cover? And the person on the line saying yes”, the lady was very nice and told me, I am sorry we had many calls regarding Jetairline but we have recieved an email from head office to reject all claims regarding to fiancial difficulties of the airline, only claim acceptable would be weather related issues. When i asked where in the policy this was desrcibe, she was unable to respond. Having had two different reasons for not accepting my claim, I reseached the “Flexplus” policy online and on the first page of Nationwide it clearly says any cancellation up to £5000 is acceptable. The stress I have been through to one side, having had paid for a false insurance is even worst. DO NOT BUY THIS INSURANCE. I have a friend that been on the same trip and her claim was fully acceptable by halifax insurance.

This is just a current account with interest that does exactly what it says on the tin. I love the fact that you get free travel insurance if you pay in at least £750 each month. Staff are super friendly and very helpful, no matter which branch you go to. Online banking is very easy to set up and use.

I don't use my credit card all the time, but it's very handy for holidays. I love the cash back you get just for using it and making repayments is super easy using the Nationwide online banking system. Staff are genuinely friendly no matter which branch you go to in my 40 years worth of experience with them. As an aside, many years ago I had a cheque book stolen and £600 taken from my account. I was quickly reimbursed and was treated with total respect which made the harrowing experience a lot more bearable.

I accidentally paid my credit card bill twice. On realising my mistake I asked Nationeide to return the overpayment to my bank. They refused to do that and instead said they could either issue a cheque, pay into my current account with Nationwide (I don’t have one) or tecredit by direct debit if I had paid by direct debit(O hadn’t). I cannot hope nferstand why Nationwide could not credi the money by the same method it had been paid, or BACCS.
The Finacial Ombudsman has found in Nationeide’s favour, surprise surprise!
So be very careful how you pay your credit card bill and don’t not overpay it.

I had a radiator pipe leak in January and am still living with bare broken up floors as Nationwide have been so slow and unhelpful. At this moment in time I am still awaiting a start date for repair works! Their policy is to ask you to get quotes for the works and when I did that they offered a cash settlement for less than half the value. I told them to get their contractors to do the work as I couldn't get anyone to do it for the price they offered me and am still waiting!! Dreadful service.

Do not rely on this travel insurance.
We booked a holiday. Months after booking my husband was ill, but recovered and was fit to travel.
I rang just to inform the insurers of his up to date medical history.
They refused cover and refused to renew the annual policy.
As the booked holiday was after that renewal date, they refused to cover it.
They told us our options were:
-Cancel the holiday at our own expense;
-Travel without medical cover (to the USA! Er, no!);
-Arrange alternative cover at our own expense.

We found alternative cover, after hours of stress.
It took a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman to reclaim this money (hundreds of pounds).
Utterly appalling. Nationwide tout this benefit - in fact it’s worthless.

I started my mortgage application early February and was truthful about my sources of income. As I work part time due to my disabled son am being penalised for 3 weeks for DLA letter as I didn’t have all the pages only front page. Misled that senior underwriter will apply discretion. I had already sent duplicate now as benefit is due review in April they are saying I cannot prove addition income for foreseeable future. The property is now entering search stages and I have submitted child tax credits letter Which will take a week
To assess as each document upload takes 2 days. I am
Sick of the delays as this letter has held everything up. Other proofs straight away approved. I wish they had been honest with me and just refused earlier on then Could have closed my account as well with Nationwide as really annoyed with them. I hope people reading this will stay clear as single working mothers have no chance of getting approved if same circumstances as mine.
